My dear sister has come back home after 3 weeks

My sister participated in the summer camp that I also participated 5 years ago. Requirement is that at least one parent is from Taiwan and living out of Taiwan. They are called "kakyo".
She said it was really fantastic experience. She is now watching facebook. lol
I also remembered the fun experience I had. The room was dormitory style, and my roommate was 2 Canadians and 1 German and 1 Japanese. That was my very first time feeling internationalism in retrospect. First I had of course problem communicating. I could not tell them what I wanted to tell. But luckily I brought my electronic dictionary. So little by little, I could communicate better. But I wonder why I could communicate with them so well in retrospect. Because I was 16 and my English was veeeery poor. Now I realized the ability of communication is not perfectly related to the amount of time spent to study. Communication does not work with one-sided approach. With both willingness to communicate, that will be possible. But without least knowledge that is not posssible.
In retrospect, after this camp, I really started to have interest in communicating with people from around the world. And actually I started studying English hard.
I hope her experience will be like this principle and incentive.
