Gantz: manga review

Now, I'm really into one comic titled "Gantz"
The story begins with the death of the hero "Kei Kurono", 17 year-old high school student. He sees the society as boring or tired or something worthless, and one day he was in the station waiting for the train, the man who is drank fell on the rail, and nobody try to help and just call someone, but one tall guy decides to help, he is "Katou Masaru", he happens to be Kei's old friend. And Kato cannot lift the drank man up alone, and helplessly call for help to other people, but nobody want to help because the train is about to coming. and Kato finds Kurono, and asked him to help. Kurono jump on the rail and helped the man, but they were ran over by the train. They die.
One of this manga's characteristic point is that its picture, drawn by using computer, and its graphic is so real, and sometimes very glotesch and erotic.
And the graphic is becoming better and better as volume increase, not volume 29 is already published and if I look back the graphic on volume1, I realized the progress of graphic.

After death of heroes, they come to the room where Gantz is in, and there are other people either already, and they start to think that place is heaven or something. but see through the window, there the ordinal view is spreading, but they can not go out from the room. And there suddenly the Gantz which is black cube suddenly displays that their lives are under Gantz's will, and they are forced to kill aliens.
Gantz then give them special black suits and gun that look like toy, and then send them to the world that is completely same as the world they live, but they are invisible to other people, and there are aliens. anyone try to go home and go beyond the border the bomb implanted in their brain explodes, they are completely under Gantz's control.
and they find alien and start fighting. and this loops goes on.

the best thing in the manga is that the fighting scene is overwhelming, wigh fantastic graphic and scenario. the scenario is somewhat a little philosophical, featuring the human being's sin.

How to CONCENTRATE?

When you have to do something seriously, like studying before exam, your work that is due tomorrow, you just have to do the task, How would you concentrate and get the work done?
If you do in your room, there is a lot of temptation that distract your concentration today, computers, video game... what makes me really off concentrate most is computer.
Anyway, here I sum up how I concentrate more effectively & with stability.

1. The best way you can concentrate is to create the environment that you only can study, eliminate temptations like computers.
The easiest way to do this is to go to library or cafe. But I prefer libraries because it is quiet while cafe could be noisy and costly, and desk is not spacious.

2. Get sugar
without sugar, your brain does not work, but be careful!! too much sugar will make you sleepy, 1 piece of chocolate is enough. or have a coffee or tea.

3. Move your body
if you succeeded in studying for some amount of time, but have to continue, but your body is a little tired, move your body to refresh. a little sport like walking or exercises is great. even just standing from chair and take a little walk in house is good. or taking shower is also good refreshment.

4. Other refreshment
Listen to Classic music, smell something, do something completely opposite, give a little pain to you, put something blue in your room, eat cheese,

Lastly, for me, wearing a hat is also effective. I think this is only effective to me, so everybody must have some kind of your-way, so finding that is also important.

Mathmatical puzzle

There is a interesting nature in numbers: say positive integers n
if we do the operations as follows to this n, interesting nature appear
if n is even number→ divide n by 2
if n is odd number → multiple by 3 and add 1

any number will be "1" after these instructions. there is not yet proof of this mathmatical nature. And I wrote a program to test large variety of numbers ranging from 1 to 1000000. but if n is 113383, the program stops. I first did not know why. but as I google that, I understood that there is a limit of number that can "int" can hold, and "113383" overflows that limit.

taking courses in foreign language

Now, I'm taking course called cs106a which is introductory course for computer science, featuring Java. because I am a student of Information and Computer Science in Japan. While, my university is popular and hard to enter in "Japan", but from much bigger perspective which is world perspective, maybe my school is not the best at Computer Science. So now is the best time to feel what is it like, the course held in the best university in the world: Stanford.
Luckily, in the time of Internet, I can take Stanford's lecture online without going to America, sitting in my desk, just I purchased the course reader which was a little expensive, but that is it!
about 7000 yen for the whole lecture. because all handouts and assignments and exams are offered online.
Yeah, let's do this!! but of course there is a stambling block called LANGUAGE. the language used in the course of COURSE English. but with reading the text in advance, I really understand what the professor says well. Now, this course is becoming my way of learning computer science, and not only that, it is becoming my way of learning English. meaning I reap 2 advantages while doing 1 thing. HOW EFFICIENT!!!

Arrival of item I've been waiting for

Since I take CS106a course that is provided for free online that is Java course, I ordered the course reader "the art and science of Java" by Eric Roberts via amazon, because it is not sold in Japan, it was sent from outside of Japan. It is a little expensive, but I had been expecting the book to arrive. and today, the item came!! much faster than I had expected.
It is interesting to track how the item took the way to my house, there is a ems tracking service, and the book was sent from Korea, and since Jan 2 to 6 was Old-Chinese-New year in Korea, the departure was late, and it goes to airport and went to Haneda airport, and it go through the custom, and then transffered to the postoffice that is specialized to items from overseas. and then to my house. I think it should be interesting if we could see where my money spent in the past is now located.
This purchase made me realize again that I can not wait with calm, I checked the tracking service over and over everyday, while I know that does not help the shipment go faster. I should stop this habit. yes, I can because now I've waited for a long time.

Going to my place full of pracious memories

I have been doing Judo since I entered high school, and probably it is my life-time sport. I practiced a lot, the practice had been always hard, but really pracious to me. The time I spent with my best friends, I will never forget. And those experiences are part of me now.
Today, I went to the "dojo" where I practiced, it is always happy to go back to my places. Meeting old friends, and teacher, and seeing the new member of the Judo club. It is insightful that my senior do practice in same place. The tradition has been handed down generation to generation. But I concern one thing that the population of Judo is decreasing day by day, and our Judo club is disappearing because the club has to have more than 8 members while now 6.
I hope my place won't disappear and be there to go back again!!

Media of Japan

Now, the riot against Egyptian president is getting bigger and bigger in Egypt. Media of course have to tell this violence and rebellion to the rest of the world. Major media like CNN, BBC look working with enthusiasm, with professional attitude. On the other hand, watching news program today, Japanese media don't broadcast about the riot so much, just a little. When I turned on TV, and the program was featuring the riot, and after less than 1minute, the topic changed, the riot in Egypt to the Egyptian restaurant in Tokyo!! saying "what is the effect of the riot to Japan?" They said, the ingredients of the restaurant are coming from Egypt, so people will not be able to eat the food in Tokyo. hahha----
When I saw this, I was so disappointed, and felt this is no good to all the people living in Japan. Considering the power of media. Media work as role model of people, and create shared national culture. The creators nuts. unprofessional, not enthusiastic, just pursuit simpleness.
Instead of broadcasting the real importance of the world, the media tells about things like "So what?", such as popular baseball player do this, the actress did this.,, etc.

The problem is, most of people do not care about this, because they can not compare it with other genuine media. And general idea that something that on TV is worth trusting is prevalent among people. So that this will not be big problem basically. But drastic change is necessary. For example, creating TV channel that only broadcast news report all day like CNN.
