成人式 the traditional Japanese Ceremony for new adults

In Japan, we have traditional ceremony on the second Monday of January every year to celebrate new adults. Adults here mean that people who become 20 years old.
Generally new adults have their ceremony party in their region, people in the same region get together, and they usually were classmate in same elementary school or middle school in most cases. I went to private middle school, so after I graduated from elementary school, I was separated from my friends in elementary school. Now it has been almost 8 years since graduation of elementary school.
And now I am 20 years old , and ready to have the ceremony, and now I am so excited to see my old friends, but with a little nervousness because it' been so long time that I don't even imagine how they have become now. I am afraid the relationship we had could be of course becomes weak as time passes by. But mainly , I really wanna see my old friends, it is gonna be so much fun to see and know my friends again.
