My mother is from Taiwan. And when I was small, around 8 years old, when I was in elementary school, I was shamed of my mixed race, half Japanese, half Taiwanese. I don't know why, but I could not say this to my friends. I think it because if I said that, I would be bullied.
Now, I live in a liberal democratic society which upholds the equality and justice, and I understand that principle. But, ethnomethodological research, which analyzed daily life discursive conversation or speech, finds out that how prevalent the existance of prejudice of race and culture difference among us!! while we upholds equality. why? I think everybody does not believe our principles unconsiously. But we dont want to admit that because we've got reason and moral fiber which were not obtained when we were child. Children are faithful to their unconcious.
In conclusion, we have prejudice in our mind. But I want to get that out of my mind!!
How can we do this? I think we can do this. I think time will tell only when we have peace.
